Weren’t people speculating the same Iraqi-Al Qaeda relationship prior to the Iraqi invasion? Can you self-proclaimed political analysts pick one already? Al Qaeda couldn’t have been both pro-Saddam and also function safely in Iranian territory. And if you think that is an accurate assumption, I invite you to read some history books. Or even a Wikipedia page, for goodness sake.
The whole Al Qaeda friendly, and holder of destructive weapons propaganda is a little unoriginal, no?

The only country who hates al-Qaeda more than the United States claims to is Iran and that hatred is genuine.
What is this nonsense? Even if they wanted to, al-Qaeda could not set up a base in Iran because they’d be killed.

Indeed. No one (at least in the US) seems to pay attention to the fact that Iran is on al-Qaeda’s list of countries to be destroyed. They believe the Shi’a (of which Iran is a majority) are heretics, perhaps even worse that Christians and Jews.
